Scope: We are taking the node offline to perform a Kernel upgrade. This was schedule for a normal maintenance window however it has been changed to emergency status due to repeated crashes. This upgrade will eliminate the previously occuring stability issues.
Explination of the issue:
With the older kernel's using Xen 4.1.2 We have encountered instability with Xen Store and once it crashes causes the node to become unresponsive, this was a know issue in Xen 3.4.4, Xen 4.1.2 Has addressed the issue however the 2.6.18 Kernel does not properly operate with Xen 4.1.2 so we are upgrading the system to Xen 4.1.3 & Kernel 3.5.3 in order to run the latest stable version of both the Xen Hypervisor & Linux Kernel
Affected nodes: DC03R02DS36
